MERCADO DE MOTORES: VINTAGE, FOOD AND MORE

Despite its name Mercado de Motores has nothing at all to do with cars. The name comes from the building, which was the house of Madrid Metro network's power generators until the 80s. The building is gorgeous and the power works are pretty well maintained.

So what is it actually?

Mercado de Motores is a real vintage and food market held first weekend of every month. Inside the old power works you  can find higher-end spaniard boutique designers and handicrafts, vintage clothes, artisanal soaps, unique hand-made bags and more.

Outside (parking area) is held a flea market with a lot of clothes, shoes and second hand books, amongst other stuff, at a very cheap price.

There's a special corner, close to the food area, where you can buy beautiful antique bikes in excellent conditions; prices vary between 100€ and 250€.

My acquisition from this market? A beautiful small metal coin bag.

Metro Station: Pacifico.
