3- Mercado San Anton.

Chueca is the coolest and most famous gay district of Madrid. Named after Federico Chueca, a great zarzuela composer, the neighborhood is very lively and open to everybody regardless your sexual preferences. Is an awesome area to eat and shop: their streets are full of cafes, bars and wonderful little old shops.

Take a map on your way to Chueca because walking is the best way to see everything around. If you are a shoe lover then take a walk on Augusto Figueroa Street, which is full of shoe shops. Don't miss the stores at Fuencarral Street and Hortaleza Street. I specially recommend you San Anton Market, a recently renovated indoor food market. You can enjoy its restaurant on the 3rd floor, and then on your way back home buy some delicious desserts, wines, cheese and fresh fruits for next breakfast.
